TOPIC: Family Success Administration Division

SPEAKER: Ismael A. Martinez, J.D.

Ismael A. Martinez is a native Floridian who has dedicated his entire professional career to public service. Ismael received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Barry University in Psychology and Juris Doctorate Degree from St. Thomas Law School in Miami, Florida. Ismael has 29 years of experience in the public sector, to include positions with the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Children and Families, Office of the Inspector General, Department of Juvenile Justice and the last nine years with Broward County Government. Ismael was hired to the County in 2010 as Assistant Director and then as Director of the Family Success Administration Division (FSAD) in 2016.

This Division has over 107 employees and has a budget of over 17 million dollars. The FSAD offers services to Broward County residents through the following programs: Family Success Centers, Financial Capability Program, Community Action Agency and the Housing Options Program. In addition to his duties, Ismael is very active in the community, representing Broward County Human Services on several community boards and committees. Ismael is currently the Chairman of the Board for HandsOn Broward, and is a Board Member of the Broward Workforce Development Board. Ismael also serves as the Deputy Branch Director of Human Services for the Broward County Emergency Operations Center.
