Dr. Peter Ricci, CHA is director of the hospitality management program at
Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida.
Presentation
In today’s challenging times of limited hiring, reduced training, and
decreased budgets, human resources professionals need to use an inexpensive, yet
very productive and creative method of recruiting – recruiting from hospitality
management college programs.
Dr. Ricci’s presentation will detail the state of hospitality management within
higher education specific and its future growth prospects. A discussion will
focus on how to work directly with local college programs in the South Florida
region. A description of creative ways to work with colleges will be discussed.
Attendees will leave with ideas generated for group recruiting, class
presenting, creation of unique assignments, and other items of benefit to the
group.
About Dr. Peter Ricci
Peter has published over 35 articles on various lodging management topics,
primarily in the areas of hospitality human resources or lodging management. He
also co-authored The Little Book of Cases in Hospitality Management: Stories
from Industry Practitioners.
Peter holds the designation of Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) by the
American Hotel & Lodging Association and has been a hotel leader for such brands
as Crowne Plaza, Hilton, Best Western, Ramada, and Holiday Inn.
Dr. Ricci remains highly active in the Florida hospitality industry with his
roles of board member of the Palm Beach County Hotel & Lodging Association,
Education Trustee of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, and board
member of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association South Florida chapter.
